Team Snap
The STAR Association uses TeamSnap to communicate with particpants and families. It is a simple system that once you have signed up for a free account you will not need to enter you information repeatedly. TeamSnap allows you to be involved in many "teams" or Programs as you want , and allows you to check all your schedules in one convenient location. You can also communicate with the STAR Association, your with coaches or other team members through text or emails. TeamSnaps lets you have all your schedules and communications in one convienent place....on your smart phone.
How do I get a TeamSnap account?
After you complete your registration you will get an email invitation to join Team Snap. Just press the link and TeamSnap should help get you started.
You can down load the app or work from a computer.
SETTING UP A TEAM SNAP ACCOUNT
STEP 1
When you receive your email invitation, simply press the "Accept Your Invitation" button it will take you to the app
STEP 2
Create your password and accept "terms of service" and check if you would like to receive the TeamSnap newsletter.
STEP 3
Verify that you are the player/volunteer or a parent/guardian.
STEP 4
Enter your phone number and sex.
STEP 5
Share your schedule with a family member by entering their name, they will receive an email invite to join TeamSnap
STEP 6
Congratulations! You now have an official TeamSnap account and can see your schedule, check your availability, complete your health check, chat and email your teammates, and sign up an assignment.
MAKE SURE YOU SET YOUR PREFERENCES
TO RECEIVE EMAILS AND TEXTS !!!
In the lower right corner you will see a "More" button. Open it and you will see a number of resources. Check "Preferences"
Make sure you select email schedule reminders, and mobile notification for schedule updates and alerts.
Failure to set preferences or to install Team Snap app may mean you don't get last minute practice changes due to weather.
HEALTH CHECK. COVID CONTRACT TRACING
Required prior to every practice or game by all participants, volunteers and coaches.
On the opening page click "Event Details"
Click on "My Health Check"
The Health Check must be completed on the day of the practice or event. Press "Start"
Answer the series of questions regarding Covid symptoms. Then press done and you are good to go. Thanks for your cooperation in keeping everyone healthy.
"SCHEDULES" Tab
When your TeamSnap app opens you will see the next practice or event. Tap the event and the details of the event are posted. You will see a line where you can check if you are GOING, MAYBE or NO. Please check the appropriate box. This helps our coaches plan better, and is needed for COVID contract tracing.
By Tapping the Calendar icon the entire seasons schedule will appear.
If you click the Download icon in the upper left corner of the schedule, you can download the entire seasons schedule to you calandar
AVAILABLITY TAB
Lets everyone know whos coming. (we need this info for COVID Contact tracing) It is also where you will do your COVID Health screen.
Clicking the Availability tab lets you know who is coming to practice. In case you need to car pool.
Communicating with your teammates and coaches about a specific practice or event.
Notice the little blue circle at the bottom of the Event Details screen. Open this and you will options to add a note regarding the practice. Its a great way to let your teammates and coaches know information specific to that one practice.
Click on the "My Availablity Note" and you can add a note.
Just add your note and press "Save" and your information will be linked to your availability on the roster for that specific practice or event.
"ASSIGNMENT" TAB.
Helping out when we need an extra hand
Occasionally you might see a request for volunteers to help with an event or practice. You will see it at the bottom of the Practice Screen.
Go to the "Assignment" tab and it will list roles/ assistance needed.
Open the assignment tab, choose how you would like to help. Press "Save" Your assignment is now listed and your opening page will remind you of your assignment.
"MESSAGES" tab.
The easy way to communicate in one place.
POSTS. This is where important information will be posted. It is very easy to return to for future reference. Click on the 'Messages" icon. Then Select "Posts". Click the Post you want to review. You will see the original posts and all reply or have a question. If you want to reply click on the "arrow" icon in the upper right hand corner. You will receive an email notification when your reply is responded to.
CHAT is a text message. It is easy to connect with a single person, the coaches or the whole team.
Email and ALERTS are also available.
