Who can participate?
All individuals with Parkinson's Disease regardless of age and disease progression. Individuals with Parkinson's Disease looking to improve their tone, rigidity, and overall function.
Social and Refreshments
Social and refreshment time will follow each of our sessions. This is an opportunity for individuals with Parkinson's Disease and their Care Partners to talk with one another and build a community.
Why dance?
Dance has been shown to decrease tremor and rigidity and improve strength and balance for individuals with Parkinson's Disease. Dance can be done both sitting or standing.
What kind of "dance" should I expect?

Emphasis will be placed on large, accentuated movements and voice projection. All equipment is provided at our programs.
What should I bring?

In case of inclement weather, the STAR Association reserves the right to cancel a session. Participants will be notified via TeamSnap.
The STAR Association follows CDC and State, and County Health Department recommendations for COVID Mitigation. We recommend that all who are eligible to get a vaccine to do so. Masks, Social Distancing and good hand washing will be required at all STAR programs.
