Who can participate?
All individuals with Parkinson's Disease regardless of age and disease progression. Modifications will be made for indivduals as necessary. Individuals with Parkinson's Disease looking to improve their tone, rigidity, and overall function. Individuals do not need boxing experience to participate in this program.
Why Rock Steady Boxing?
Boxing for individuals with Parkinson's Disease has been shown to develop strength, agility, and balance. Boxing has also been shown to decrease rigidity and tone. Participants will experience benefits from increased aerobic activity, vocal training, and cognitive stimulation.
Social and Refreshments
Social and refreshment time will prior each of our sessions. This is an opportunity for individuals with Parkinson's Disease and their Care Partners to talk with one another and build a community.

All of our sessions will focus on large, accentuated movements and will include exercises to increase vocal projection. All equipment is provided at our programs.

In case of inclement weather, the STAR Association reserves the right to cancel a session. Participants will be notified via TeamSnap.
The STAR Association follows CDC and State, and County Health Department recommendations for COVID Mitigation. We recommend that all who are eligible to get a vaccine to do so. Masks, Social Distancing and good hand washing will be required at all STAR programs.
